Although The Bang Bang Club has a wonderful story but it
suffered from poor advance reviews. holding a 47% rating on Rotten Tomatoes ,
and the audience rating was 61% .
The movie earned $124,791 domestically and was shown only in
the US in nine theaters. It has its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
And it was first released in the States on April 22, 2011.
The Bang Bang Club is a 2010 South African – Canadian film,
this film is directed by Steven Silver and produced by Adam Friedlander, Daniel
Iron and Lance Samuels.
It stars Taylor Kitsch, Ryan Philippe, and Neels Van Jaarsveld.
The story of the film talks about four photojournalists in the townships of
South Africa during the period 1990-1994 where Nelson Mandela was released from
prison.
The film adopted the autobiographical book The Bang-Bang
Club: Snapshots from a Hidden War, which is co-written by Joao and Greg
Marinovich.
